Joe Biden's Son Convicted of Three Felony Charges in Gun Trial
Hunter Biden, the 54-year-old son of President Joe Biden, was found guilty by a 12-member jury in Wilmington, Delaware on charges related to illegally purchasing and owning a firearm while abusing drugs. The jury deliberated for approximately three hours over two days before reaching a verdict. According to reports, Hunter Biden lied on a mandatory gun-purchase form by claiming he was not illegally using or addicted to drugs, and then illegally possessed the firearm for 11 days. Prosecutors argued that Hunter Biden's actions constituted lying to a federally licensed gun dealer, making a false claim on the application, and illegally possessing the firearm. The jury found him guilty of all three counts against him. After the verdict was read, Hunter Biden showed little reaction, lightly nodding his head before patting his lawyer on the back and hugging another member of his legal team. The judge set no date for sentencing, but indicated that it would typically occur within 120 days. Hunter Biden faces a prison sentence of up to 25 years. His wife, Melissa Cohen Biden, was present at the trial, seated in the first row behind him.
Compare and contrast the difference in reaction between the Republicans and the Democrats.
It was these choices and the combination of guns and drugs that made his conduct dangerous.
No one in this country is above the law.
Hunter Biden should be no more accountable than any other citizens convicted of this same conduct.
Ultimately, this case was not just about addiction, a disease that haunts families across the United States, including Hunter Biden's family.
As we all know, the sentencing hasn't even been scheduled yet.
Recovery is possible by the grace of God, and I am blessed to experience that gift one day at a time.
