Japan prosecutors make first arrest in ruling party financial scandal
Yoshitaka Ikeda is accused of failing to report fundraising income he received from his faction within the ruling Liberal Democratic Party. He allegedly falsified the required report of his political fund management organization, omitting more than 48 million yen. The faction is believed to be the largest and most influential within Kishida's ruling party.
