Italy sends first migrants to Albania under new deal

The two reception centers in Albania, built by Italy, aim to deter irregular arrivals to Italy, but rights groups have condemned the plan, calling it a "cruel experiment" that undermines human rights. Italy has also sent a naval ship to Albania to deliver refugees and will process their asylum claims according to Italian procedures. The centers in Albania will only accommodate adult men, while vulnerable individuals, such as women, children, and the elderly, will be housed in Italy.
