Italian island gives away goats to control overpopulation

The small Italian island of Alicudi, which typically houses around 100 residents and 100 wild goats, is currently experiencing an imbalance in its human-to-animals ratio. According to recent reports, the goat population is reaching approximately 600 goats. This significant increase has led the goats to encroach upon inhabited areas of the island, causing concerns among residents. The goats were once harmoniously coexisting with humans and even served as a tourist attraction due to their presence. However, their rapid population growth has become problematic, and efforts are being made to address the issue.
