Italian Nun Arrested in Connection with Alleged Mafia Links

Sister Anna Donelli, a 57-year-old nun, has been arrested in Brescia, northern Italy on suspicion of working with the 'Ndrangheta mafia. The investigation, which has also led to the arrest of 23 other individuals, including bosses from the Tripodi clan and a former politician, suggests that Donelli acted as an intermediary between mafia bosses and foot soldiers. The investigation reportedly uncovered evidence of extortion and threats, including instances where victims were ordered to dig their own graves at gunpoint. The arrest has shed light on the involvement of organized crime in Italy, with police seizing assets worth over 1.8 million euros.
