Israeli woman and homestay host gang-raped in southern India

A tragic incident occurred in Koppal town, southern Karnataka state, where a group of tourists, including an Israeli woman and her homestay operator, were brutally assaulted by three men on a motorbike. The victims were stargazing with three male travelers, an American and two Indians, when the perpetrators approached them, demanding money. An argument ensued, and the men pushed the male tourists into a nearby canal, where one of the Indians drowned. The other two women, including the Israeli tourist, were subjected to a gang-rape.
