Israel to defend itself against Gaza genocide allegations in top UN court
South Africa has submitted a 5,000-page document to the International Court of Justice, accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza. The document, submitted on a Monday, alleges that Israel has a "special intent to commit genocide" against Palestinians. Israeli military has called on Palestinians to evacuate northern Gaza, while Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has been recorded calling for the migration of Gaza's current inhabitants. South Africa's document is said to contain evidence showing how Israel has violated the genocide convention, according to the presidency. ICJ rulings are legally binding but the court has no concrete means to enforce them.
