Israel strikes central Beirut for first time in year of conflict
On Monday, an Israeli airstrike hit an apartment building in central Beirut, leveling it and killing at least one person. This was the first time Israel has targeted the center of the capital since the renewed outbreak of conflict between Hezbollah and Israel in October 2023. The strike also resulted in the death of three members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
