Ireland and Spain Advance Plan to Recognize Palestinian Statehood

Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has called for the European Union (EU) to review its strategic relationship with Israel if it determines that Israel has breached humanitarian law in Gaza. Sanchez announced that Spain has stopped selling weapons to Israel. Spain and Ireland are reportedly getting closer to recognizing a Palestinian state, with both leaders holding bilateral talks in Dublin to gain support for the move. Ireland's Taoiseach Micheál Martin stated they would move when "the time is right."
