Ireland Woman Detained in UAE on Suspicions of Attempted Suicide

Tori Towey, a 28-year-old Irish woman, has been detained in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after allegedly attempting suicide and being accused of abusing alcohol. According to reports, Towey was the victim of domestic violence and had attempted to return to Ireland but was blocked from doing so due to issues with her passport. The Sinn Féin leader has spoken out about the situation, stating that Towey's passport was blocked and she is unable to return to Ireland. In response, Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris has pledged to intervene in the case, and embassy staff are prepared to transport Towey to the airport as soon as she is ready to leave the UAE.
