Iran's Supreme Leader Issues Warning to Israel Following Recent Escalation
Iranian officials have made contradictory statements regarding the conflict between Israel and Lebanon, with Iran's foreign minister Abbas Araghchi supporting a regional ceasefire and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei defending Iran's ballistic missile attack on Israel as legitimate. Araghchi stated that Tehran supports efforts for a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, while warning Tel Aviv that any attack on Iran would be met with a harsh response. In contrast, Khamenei called for unity among Muslim nations and vowed that Hezbollah and Hamas would emerge with new leaders, while defending Iran's attack on Israel as retaliation for the deaths of Hassan Nasrallah and Ismail Haniyeh. Khamenei's address was the first since Iran launched its second attack on Israel, with Israel citing the goal of allowing displaced Israelis to return to their homes.
We do not intend to continue the attacks unless the Zionist regime chooses to continue its attacks.
If the Israeli entity takes any step or measure against us, our retaliation will be stronger than the previous one.
We support the efforts for a ceasefire, provided that first, the rights of the Lebanese people are respected and it is accepted by the [Hezbollah] resistance, and second, that it comes simultaneously with a ceasefire in Gaza.
Israel has three power plants and several refineries, and we can attack them at the same time.
The resistance in the region will not back down even with the killing of its leaders.
We need not procrastinate nor rush, but to do what is logical and correct.
If their policies are sowing the seeds of division in one country, they may prevail and once they seize control of one country, they move to the other.
Unlike Israel, which targets residential areas, we only attacked military centres.
The operations were … in return for the heinous crimes committed by this bloodthirsty criminal entity.
Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah brought assurance and courage to the fighters and seekers of truth. The scope of his popularity and influence extended beyond Lebanon, Iran, and Arab countries, and now his martyrdom will increase his influence even more.
His speech was focused on unity because he has seen now that the possibility of a regional war is real and that's why he is asking Muslims to be united, to somehow eliminate this threat as a common action, so a regional war can be aborted.
