Iran Begins Funeral Arrangements for President Raisi

Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi died in a helicopter crash on May 19, at the age of 63. The incident occurred while he was returning to Tabriz after meeting with his Azeri counterpart, Ilham Aliyev. The cause of the crash is still unknown, with Turkish Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu stating that it's too soon to comment on the reason. Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has announced five days of mourning following Raisi's death.
