International Law Enforcement Agencies Arrest Four Suspects in Global Anti-Malware Operation

Europol's Operation Endgame, described as "the largest ever operation against botnets", resulted in arrests in Armenia and Ukraine, as well as 16 police searches across four countries. The operation was initiated and led by France, Germany, and the Netherlands, with a French official stating that they aimed to take action before the Paris Olympics this summer. The attacks are believed to have cost victims hundreds of millions of euros. As part of the operation, police arrested four "high-value" suspects, took down over 100 servers, and seized control of more than 2,000 internet domains. The coordinated effort involved law enforcement agencies from Germany, the Netherlands, France, Denmark, Ukraine, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Eight fugitive suspects linked to the case will be added to Europe's Most Wanted list.
