India denies allegations of "false, malicious" assassinations in Pakistan
There have been conflicting reports regarding India's involvement in assassinations in Pakistan. While India has denied allegations of orchestrating nearly 20 killings in Pakistan since 2020, there are claims that Indian defense minister has confirmed the government's role in extrajudicial killings of convicted terrorists and militants associated with Islamist groups. According to interviews with intelligence operatives from both countries, India's foreign intelligence agency, Research & Analysis Wing (RAW), began carrying out assassinations abroad as part of a more assertive approach to national security after 2019.
Pakistan has previously accused Indian intelligence agencies of attempting assassinations in their territory, but India has consistently denied these allegations. The information available is limited and much remains unclear.
