Huw Edwards given suspended sentence for accessing indecent images of children

Huw Edwards, a 63-year-old former BBC anchor, pleaded guilty to three charges of making indecent images of children. He was sentenced to a six-month prison term suspended for two years. Edwards admitted to viewing 41 indecent images of children as young as seven. The charges were made in July, and he was sentenced in September. Edwards' reputation and career are reportedly in tatters as a result of the scandal. He was also ordered to complete a 40-day sex offender treatment program. The sentencing hearing was told that Edwards would be at risk of "considerable harm" and suicide if he were to be jailed.
