Houthis Claim Multiple Attacks on Ships in Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean
Recent reports indicate that multiple attacks have been carried out in the region. The Islamic Resistance in Iraq allegedly launched a surprise attack on Israel using cruise missiles, targeting Tel Aviv for the first time. However, Israel has not publicly commented on the incident. In separate developments, Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for missile attacks on two Panama-flagged container ships in the Gulf of Aden and one ship in the Indian Ocean. The US-led Joint Maritime Information Center confirmed that two missile attacks took place on Tuesday. The attacked vessels, MSC Diego and MSC Gina, were hit with ballistic missiles and drones. Additionally, an adviser to Iran's supreme leader reiterated that Tehran could build a nuclear weapon if it chose to pursue atomic armaments. This statement comes as allies of Hamas continue to pressure Israel over its ongoing war against the militant group in the Gaza Strip.
If Iran's existence is threatened, we will have to change our nuclear doctrine.
Recently, the military officials also announced that if Israel wants to attack nuclear facilities, it is possible and imaginable to revise Iran's nuclear doctrine and policies and divert from the previous declaration considerations.
Neither were hit and all crew on board are safe.
The vessels were last reported proceeding to next port of call.
