Houthi missile strikes hit two ships in Gulf of Aden

Yemen's Houthi rebels launched two separate attacks on commercial vessels in the Gulf of Aden. In one incident, an anti-ship ballistic missile struck the Liberian-flagged and Swiss-owned container ship Tavvishi, causing damage but no injuries to its crew. The attack also sparked a fire on board, which was later extinguished by the crew. A second missile fired at the Tavvishi missed its target, and those on small boats in the vicinity responded with gunfire against the ship. In another incident, two anti-ship ballistic cruise missiles hit the cargo ship Norderney, striking its forward station. The British military's United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center reported both attacks, which were carried out by Yemen's Houthi rebels. CENTCOM confirmed that the Tavvishi was damaged in the attack but no crew members were injured.
