Hidden Crypt Found Under Petra

A recent archaeological discovery in Petra has uncovered a hidden chamber containing the remains of 12 people, described by the American Center of Research's executive director, Pearce Paul Creasman, as "stunning". The chamber, also known as al-Khazneh, was discovered by Creasman-led researchers who had been investigating the Treasury, a site long speculated to have additional underground chambers. This new find appears to confirm previous theories. The discovery has been met with excitement, with Professor Richard Bates describing it as the most significant in Petra in at least two centuries, following approval from the Jordanian authorities to study the Treasury.
