Heathrow Airport Closes Due to Power Outage Following Fire at Nearby Substation

On March 21, a fire at a substation in Hayes, west London, caused a significant power outage at Heathrow Airport, leading to its complete shutdown for the day. The fire, which involved a transformer, cut off power to the airport and surrounding areas, affecting over 16,300 homes and causing the evacuation of around 150 people from nearby buildings.
