Hamas leader meets with Erdoğan in Turkey for regional peace discussions

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with a Hamas delegation headed by Ismail Haniyeh in Istanbul on Saturday. The discussions took place amid heightened regional tensions following reported Israeli attacks on both Gaza and Iran. Hamas leaders expressed their concerns about the situation in Gaza, where they are preparing for a new Israeli offensive. Erdogan has attempted to act as a mediator in the conflict but has not yet succeeded. Additionally, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan was in Qatar on Wednesday for undisclosed reasons.
