Hamas Open to Disarmament in Exchange for Palestinian State Establishment

According to recent statements from Hamas officials, the militant group may be willing to abandon its armed struggle against Israel if an independent Palestinian state is established in territories captured by Israel during the 1967 war. This concession appears significant, as Hamas has historically been committed to Israel's destruction. However, it remains unclear whether Israel would consider such a scenario. Khalil al-Hayya, a senior Hamas official, suggested that the group could agree to a truce of five years or more with Israel.
