Greek Court Drops Charges Against Nine Egyptians Over Migrant Shipwreck

A Greek judge has dismissed charges against nine Egyptian men accused of causing a shipwreck that killed hundreds of migrants last year. The incident occurred on the Mediterranean Sea, where a fishing trawler carrying over 500 people from Pakistan, Syria, and Egypt capsized off the coast of Greece. Only 104 survivors were rescued, while 82 bodies were recovered. A prosecutor argued that Greece lacked jurisdiction to try the case, leading to the charges being dropped.
