Germany issues arrest warrant for Ukrainian national over Nord Stream gas pipeline sabotage attack

German authorities have issued an international arrest warrant for a Ukrainian man, identified as Volodymyr Z, in connection with the 2022 sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines. According to German investigators, Volodymyr Z was part of a team that planted explosive devices on the pipeline route, which ruptured and released gas into the Baltic Sea. The incident occurred in September 2022, and the investigation has been ongoing since then. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has denied that Ukraine was behind the sabotage. German law does not allow the publication of the suspect's surname, but it is reported that Volodymyr Zhuravlov, 44, fled Poland a few weeks after a German court issued a warrant for his arrest, which has since expired. German investigators believe that the suspect may have used a 50ft charter yacht to conduct the sabotage.
