German tourist dies in shark attack off Canary Islands

A shark attack occurred off the Canary Islands, resulting in the death of a 30-31 year old German national. The incident occurred while the woman was sailing on a catamaran, approximately 500km (270 nautical miles) off the coast. The attack caused the woman to lose a leg and suffer a heart attack. She was airlifted to a hospital on the island of Gran Canaria, where she later died.
