German ambassador to Russia recalled over cyberattacks

The Czech government has recalled its ambassador to Russia, Vitezslav Pivonka, who will leave his post at the end of May. Germany has also taken similar action, recalling its ambassador to Russia for a week-long consultation in Berlin. This move comes after Germany accused Russian military agents of hacking into the top echelons of Chancellor Olaf Scholz's party. The German government has joined NATO and other European countries in warning that Russia's cyberespionage activities would have consequences.
