Gaza conflict continues into 12th month with truce prospects remaining uncertain
The conflict in Gaza continues with no end in sight. The death toll has risen to at least 40,939 people, with most of the victims being women and children. The latest reports indicate that at least 61 people have been killed by Israeli attacks on Gaza in the last two days, including three women and two children. The Israeli government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, insists that troops must remain on a key strip of land along the Gaza-Egypt border, while Hamas demands a complete Israeli withdrawal. The international community, including the United States, Qatar, and Egypt, is mediating efforts to bring about a ceasefire. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of Israelis have taken to the streets demanding a ceasefire deal to free captives.
Eleven months. Enough. No one can take this any longer. Humanity must prevail. Ceasefire now.
