Gangs Target Wealthy Areas of Haiti Capital, Dozens Killed

Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Haiti has been closed due to increased gang activity and coordinated attacks on the remaining elements of the Haitian state. According to reports from Associated Press, at least 12 men have been found dead in the streets of Pétionville, with one man being discovered face up on the street surrounded by cards and another inside a pick-up truck. Witnesses have expressed outrage and cried out against the violence. Additionally, gunmen have targeted two upscale neighborhoods in Haiti's capital, resulting in at least a dozen fatalities. One man was heard shouting "Abuse! This is abuse!" as he stood near the scene of the attack. Furthermore, children in Haiti are seeking shelter amidst the surge of gang violence.
