French telecoms disrupted by vandalism during Paris Olympics

Saboteurs have cut fibre optic cables in six areas of the country, likely in a coordinated effort, causing disruptions to telecommunications services. The incidents, which occurred overnight, have resulted in localized disruptions to fibre line access and mobile and fixed phone services. Despite the damage, organisers of the 2024 Paris Olympics claim their operations were not affected, and repairs or workarounds have been implemented to minimize the impact.
