French Senate votes to enshrine abortion rights in constitution
France's Senate has passed a bill to enshrine a woman's right to an abortion in the country's constitution. The measure, which now moves on to a joint session of parliament for approval by a three-fifths majority next week, aims to amend Article 34 of the constitution to specify that "the law determines the conditions" for exercising this right.
