Four U.S. law enforcement officers killed in shooting incident

A shooting incident occurred outside a suburban home in Charlotte, North Carolina, resulting in the deaths of four members of a U.S. Marshals fugitive task force and the killing of one suspect. According to reports, Terry Clark Hughes Jr opened fire from the residence, with a second person also firing at officers from inside the property. A rifle was discovered on the premises. After a three-hour standoff, a woman and 17-year-old male were found in the house. The incident occurred while law enforcement officials were serving a warrant to a person wanted for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. Eight US officers were shot during the shootout, with four fatalities reported. The suspect was also killed in the gunfire. Two women are currently facing questioning over one of the deadliest incidents involving law enforcement in recent times.
