Former BBC presenter Huw Edwards charged with making indecent images of children

Huw Edwards, a 62-year-old former BBC presenter, has been accused of making indecent images of children between December 2020 and April 2022. He faces three charges related to this alleged activity. Edwards had previously quit the BBC on medical grounds in April of this year. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed the allegations and Edwards has been bailed to appear in a London court on Wednesday. Edwards was a prominent figure at the BBC, having led coverage of the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022 and being among the broadcaster's highest-paid stars.
