Flights Disrupted Despite French Air Traffic Controller Strike Cancellation

The French civil aviation authority, DGAC, announced that a significant number of flights at several airports in France will be canceled due to an air traffic control strike. The affected airports include Orly and Charles de Gaulle in Paris, Marseille, and others across the country. According to DGAC, around 75% of flights at Orly and 55% at Charles de Gaulle will be dropped on Thursday, while 65% of services at Marseille airport and 45% elsewhere in France will also be canceled. The strike is a result of a breakdown in negotiations between unions and the government over salary increases and other measures. The action has raised concerns about the potential impact on travel during the Olympic Games, which are set to take place in France later this year.
