Father of School Shooter Found Guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter

James and Jennifer Crumbley, the parents of Ethan Crumbley, a teenager who shot and killed four classmates at Oxford High School near Detroit in Michigan in 2021, have been convicted of involuntary manslaughter. James Crumbley, aged 47, was found guilty, while his wife's trial ended with a guilty verdict in February. Prosecutors argued that the parents bore responsibility for their son's actions due to their failure to secure a gun at home and disregard of warning signs indicating Ethan's violent tendencies. The weapon used in the shooting was identified as a Sig Sauer 9mm, which had been recently acquired by the family.
