FBI Launches Criminal Investigation into Baltimore Bridge Collapse

The Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed on March 26, around 1:30 a.m., after being hit by a 300m-long cargo ship named the Dali. Six construction workers who were repairing potholes on the bridge at the time tragically died when they fell into the Patapsco River as a result of the incident. The FBI and the U.S. Coast Guard are leading the criminal investigation into the disaster. The investigation will focus on whether the ship's crew was aware of any serious systems problems before leaving the Baltimore port. The FBI has reportedly boarded the Dali to gather more information regarding this matter.
