Everest Mountain
Everest Climbers Required to Remove Own Waste from Mountain
Mount Everest, the world's highest peak at 8,849 meters (29,032 feet), is located in Nepal and attracts thousands of climbers every year. The cost to climb, which includes a climbing permit, gear, food, supplemental oxygen, and Sherpa guides, can exceed $35,000. A new rule has been implemented by authorities requiring climbers to bring down their own waste, including biodegradable bags, as part of an effort to address the mountain's poop problem caused by the large number of visitors and harsh conditions. This permanent rule change aims to reduce the amount of waste accumulated on Mount Everest. Previously, it was reported that climbers paid $11,000 just for the climbing permit.
