Elon Musk's X complies with Brazilian court order, names local representative to lift ban
Elon Musk's social media platform X was inaccessible in Brazil on Thursday due to its disregard for judicial rulings. The platform had previously been banned in Brazil, but access to the phone app was restored last month. However, X's lawyers stated that the company had complied with orders from Brazil's Supreme Court in the hopes that the court would lift the block on its site. This move was a surprise from Mr. Musk, who owns and controls X. Additionally, X carried out an automatic update on phone applications, bypassing the ban in Brazil, according to an association of internet providers. Some Brazilian users were able to access the platform from their phones. Furthermore, X appointed a legal representative in Brazil in response to a requirement from the Supreme Court, after previously not having one since mid-August.
