Eiffel Tower reopens after six-day worker strike for maintenance concerns

The recent strike occurred due to employees' demands for changes to the tower's business model and improved maintenance of the 330-meter (1,083-foot) structure. SETE, the operator which is 99% owned by the city of Paris, apologized and offered refunds to affected visitors. The historic landmark, which will be featured prominently during the upcoming Paris Games, has shown signs of rust and employees are seeking salary hikes.
