A man was spotted scaling the Eiffel Tower in Paris, with police intervening and arresting him hours before the Paris 2024 Olympics closing ceremony at the Stade de France. The man was seen climbing the tower at around 14:45 local time, with some visitors briefly locked on the second floor being allowed to exit 30 minutes later. The man's motivation and nationality are unclear, and he was positioned just above the Olympic rings on the second section of the monument. The Eiffel Tower was evacuated as a result of the incident.
