Egypt backs Somalia in dispute over Ethiopia-Somaliland deal
Somalia has ruled out any mediation with Ethiopia unless Addis Ababa cancels a controversial agreement. Tensions in the Horn of Africa have escalated after landlocked Ethiopia signed a memorandum of understanding with Somaliland on Jan. 1 that gives it access to the sea. Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud says Somalia will not bow to "pressure.
