Thutmose II Tomb
Egypt Uncovers Pharaoh's Tomb in Long-Awaited Archaeological Discovery
Several archaeological discoveries have been made regarding the resting place of King Thutmose II, with Egyptian and international teams contributing to the findings.
The tomb is located near the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, southern Egypt, and it belonged to the 18th dynasty, which also saw the reign of King Tutankhamun.
According to Piers Litherland, the discovery was significant, being the first tomb of an Egyptian pharaoh found in over a century.
The alabaster vases found on the site allowed archaeologists to identify the tomb as belonging to Thutmose II.
