Israel-Palestine Conflict
Dutch Court Halts Delivery of F-35 Parts to Israel
The Dutch court has ruled in favor of several human rights groups and ordered the Dutch government to stop delivering parts for F-35 fighter jets used by Israel in the Gaza Strip. The court's decision was based on the argument that there is a clear risk these exported parts are being used in serious violations of international humanitarian law. Oxfam and two other organizations filed a lawsuit against the Dutch government, expressing concerns over potential Israeli violations of international law during their military offensive in Gaza. The conflict has resulted in the death of over 27,000 Palestinians. The Netherlands hosts a warehouse of U.S.-owned F-35 parts that are exported to countries operating the fighter jets. The court dismissed the Dutch government's argument that it was not required to conduct a new check on the permit for these exports.
