Death toll from chemicals spill in Brazilian river rises to 57 after bridge collapse

The Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira bridge collapsed on Sunday, resulting in a significant loss of life and damage. A total of 4 people are confirmed to have died, including 3 women and 1 man, with more than 10 others still missing. The collapse occurred when the central span of the 533-meter-long bridge gave way, causing multiple vehicles to fall into the Tocantins River. A video shows a city councilman asking authorities to address issues with the bridge prior to the collapse, and a portion of the bridge collapsing as motorists stop their vehicles in time.
