Deadly wildfires sweep across South Korea's southeast, killing 4 and forcing 1,500 evacuations

Multiple wildfires broke out in South Korea's southeastern region, with the largest one beginning in Sancheong County, approximately 250 km southeast of Seoul. The fire, which was caused by a spark from a lawn mower, started on Friday afternoon and rapidly spread to other areas. A total of 4,000 firefighters, including police and civil servants, were deployed to fight the blaze, which had already claimed four lives and injured six people, with five of the injured being seriously harmed.
