Cuba struck by 6.8 magnitude earthquake off the eastern coast

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Cuba on Sunday, specifically in Granma province near the municipality of Bartolome Maso. The quake was reported to have caused some damage in the area of Pilon, close to the epicenter. According to the authorities, the shaking led to partial collapses of homes and government buildings, as well as cracked walls and damaged staircases. People in the affected provinces reported it to be one of the most powerful earthquakes they have ever felt. No deaths or injuries have been reported so far.
