Convicted soccer star Dani Alves granted €1 million bail during appeal process of rape conviction

Dani Alves, a former professional soccer player, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison for sexually assaulting a 23-year-old woman at an upscale nightclub in Barcelona in December 2022. However, the lawyer of the victim strongly opposed this decision, expressing her surprise and outrage as it seemed like "justice for the rich."
