Congo Prosecutors Seek Death Penalty for 51 Defendants in Alleged Coup Attempt Trial

Prosecutors have requested the death penalty for 50 individuals, including three American citizens, in connection with a failed coup attempt. The defendants are charged with various crimes, many of which carry the death penalty. The coup attempt resulted in the deaths of six people.
