Climate protesters arrested for vandalizing Stonehenge monument with orange paint

On June 20th, Just Stop Oil protesters were arrested for spraying orange paint on three stones at Stonehenge, an ancient monument and UNESCO World Heritage Site in southern England. The incident occurred just a day before thousands were expected to gather at the site to celebrate the summer solstice. According to reports, the protesters sat cross-legged in front of the stones and members of the public attempted to intervene by dragging them away. The group's demands included calling on the incoming government to sign up to a legally binding treaty to phase out fossil fuels by 2030. Two protesters were subsequently arrested on suspicion of damaging the ancient monument.
