Climate activists sentenced to jail for defacing Van Gogh's Sunflowers painting

Two climate activists, Phoebe Plummer and Anna Holland, were sentenced to 2 years and 20 months in jail respectively for an incident in October 2022. They had pleaded not guilty. The sentence was described as "draconian and disproportionate" by Greenpeace UK's co-executive director. Plummer stated she is happy with her choices. In a separate incident, three other protesters threw soup on two Van Gogh paintings just hours after the sentencing.
