According to recent reports, the past 12 months have been the hottest ever recorded on Earth. Human-induced climate change has led to an increase in abnormally high temperatures, with nearly 80% of the world's population experiencing at least 31 days of unusual warmth since May. The average person on Earth has experienced 26 more days of extreme heat than they would have without human-caused warming. Heat is also the leading cause of climate-related deaths.
