Chinese Snow Village Faces Backlash Over Fake Snow Setup
The Chengdu Snow Village project in Sichuan province, China, has been embroiled in a controversy surrounding the use of fake snow to lure tourists over the Lunar New Year holiday. According to various reports, the village used cotton wool and soapy water to create the fake snow, which was then advertised as a thick layer of snow blanketing the log cabin roofs. However, many visitors were left angry and disappointed upon discovering that the snow was, in fact, large sheets of cotton. The Snow Village issued an apology on social media, attributing the fiasco to unusually warm weather in the region. The project has since been closed for "rectification", implying a reevaluation of the village's operations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
